Nearly a year after shooting some of the footage for Pivden ‘23, we’re putting out the trailer. All current No Parking in Parking Lot subscribers will get free access to the documentary and a high-quality download. Thank you all for your support this past year-plus. The trailer is also downloadable, so please feel free to share.
The digital release of the full film is slated for the first week of December. We’ll also have screenings in New York, NY; Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA; and Providence, RI in December 2024 and early 2025.
This was not a cheap project to put together, so if you want to support Pivden ‘23 and further reporting from yours truly, hop on a paid subscription. We’ll also have a one-time donation option when the film is released. This will help me head back to southern Ukraine for more work and hopefully a follow-up with some of the people seen in the documentary.
I want to raise money for some groups on the ground, including some featured in Pivden ‘23. I will personally vet these organizations and you’ll have a choice to split your donations between the Pivden ‘23 team and these organizations however you see fit. These will be non-combat-focused aid groups helping Ukrainians affected by the war.
Unfortunately, the situation in Ukraine has not improved since the events of Pivden ‘23 and the war has lately become incredibly deadly for civilians in southern Ukraine. On top of being constantly shelled, people in Kherson are now hunted by drones on a daily basis. Odesa recently endured another horrific missile strike. I know for a fact that at least one person in Pivden ‘23 lost someone very close to them this year for nothing more than being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I hope we will be able to put some money together for the people who are giving their time and risking their safety to help those in need.
Thank you all again for your support. It’s meant a lot to me and has given me a ton of juice to see this project through to release.
